
Steven Sasson is an electrical engineer famed for being the inventor of the portable digital camera. Following his successful invention, Steven retired from Kodak, going on to work as a consultant in intellectual property, becoming the President of Steven J. Sasson Consulting LLC in 2011. Having made such a revolutionary advancement in the realms of technology, Steven is now a Visiting Professor at the Institute for Advanced Discovery and Innovation, University of Southern Florida.
Such a distinguished career as an inventor and engineer has seen Steven become the recipient of countless awards. One of his most prominent awards includes being the recipient of the National Medal of Technology and Innovation, bestowed upon him by then-President Barack Obama. Steven has also earned his place in the National Inventors Hall of Fame and the Consumer Electronics Hall of Fame, along with becoming a Fellow of the National Academy of Inventors. His influence is recognised globally, having also been the recipient of the Culture Award from the Photographic Society of Germany and the Royal Photographic Society of Great Britain’s Progress Medal. Most recently, Steven has claimed the American Society of Photographers International Award and the Lucie Foundation Spotlight/Visionary Award – a testament to the impact that Steven continues to have in the fields of technology and innovation.
