Steven’s journey began in his MSc in Marketing & Strategy at Warwick Business School, graduating in 2011 with a focus on SME growth strategies. Driven by a curiosity for international markets, he moved to Beijing, where he achieved HSK Level 4 proficiency in Mandarin Chinese after years of intensive study.

Steven has held several prestigious positions throughout his career, including Managing Director of the British Chamber of Commerce in China, where he played a pivotal role during landmark events such as Brexit and the COVID-19 pandemic. His leadership bolstered the Chamber's reputation, strengthened UK-China business ties, and supported British businesses navigating uncharted waters. In 2023, Steven returned to the UK to take on the role of Executive Director of the Eastern Powerhouse, where he is spearheading efforts to unify and grow the East of England's economy.
