Dr Shola Mos-Shogbamimu is a passionate activist and campaigner fighting for social justice and an articulate speaker on political reform, women, and human rights. Also, a distinguished lawyer, author and well-known media commentator, Shola demonstrates her strong sense of justice in her speaking engagements. A keen educator, Shola shares her profound knowledge of women’s rights, diversity and inclusion, race relations, racism, discrimination, and British Politics in her presentations, in the process enriching people’s understanding of these sensitive issues.
As a prominent academic, Shola holds several qualifications from some of the most prestigious universities including a Bachelor of Law from the University of Buckingham, an LLM from the London School of Economic and Political Science and an MBA from the University of Cambridge among others. Inspired by a strong sense of justice and curiosity, from an early age, Shola set her mind on becoming a lawyer and is now qualified to practice law both in the UK and New York. Shola has a strong background in finance having worked for Citibank, Schroders, J.P. Morgan, and Bank of America Merrill Lynch to name a few.
Shola is frequently sought after as a commentator and has made regular appearances on leading media outlets all around the world including Sky News, CNN, BBC, Al Jazeera, and France 24. Moreover, she is a long-term contributor to the Huffington Post and has written about several topics such as Brexit, women’s rights, diversity, inclusion, and racism to name a few. Furthermore, as the Founder and Editor of the Women in Leadership publication, Shola creates exclusive and tailored content to empower and inspire women in leadership positions or those aspiring to become future leaders. She is also the author of Why I Resist, a book that calls for anti-racist action by activists, politicians, and speakers.
Dedicating much of her time to her activism, Shola teaches intersectional feminism to asylum seekers at the Women for Refugee Women charity and has organised the Women’s March London. She is also actively involved in scrutinizing government policies relating to gender and diversity and inclusion. Using her Leadership Foundation, Shola is a keen speaker who focuses on mentoring and educating university and college students, in addition to advising them on Women and BAME in the legal profession. In 2019 Shola Chaired the Institute of Directors Inclusive Business Roadshow events across the UK and is now available to speak at corporate events.
