With a degree in Biotechnology from UCL, Sean began his career as a Web Designer for IBM. He then worked as a Website Manager for BHS, managing a team of 12 in the digital department while producing digital roadmaps for the organisation. Later, he joined HSBC as a Digital Experience Manager and held prominent positions such as Content Producer and Head of Content. Sean’s time in the corporate world made him acutely aware of the growing concerns around stress and burnout in the workplace. Believing that work should not cause harm to one's health, Sean recognised that change was necessary.
Since 2021, Sean has been the Mindfulness Programme Manager at HSBC, leading efforts to create significant cultural change within the organisation. His work embedding mindfulness across HSBC’s global workforce of over 200,000 employees has resulted in HSBC’s Mindfulness Champions winning the 2023 Champions Network Award and the 2024 This Can Happen Award. Sean has successfully scaled mindfulness solutions globally, delivering over 200 sessions per month and training thousands of employees annually, while adapting these practices to diverse cultures and languages. These initiatives have led to measurable improvements in stress resilience and wellbeing within the organisation.
