
Sangeeta Waldron is a multi-award-winning communications professional, Climate Reality Leader trained by Al Gore, and bestselling author of The PR Knowledge Book, Corporate Social Responsibility Is Not Public Relations, which was shortlisted for the UK Business Book Awards, and What Will Your Legacy Be? – Conversations With Global Game Changers About the Climate Crisis. She is founder of her own communications agency, Serendipity PR & Media, as well as co-founded The Green House Duo alongside former Managing Director of Al Jazeera News English, Giles Trendle, a collaboration which allows a powerful combination of expertise across the areas of sustainability, communications, and media. Sangeeta is a regular international speaker and moderator delivering impactful and informative sessions on topics including the climate crisis; corporate social responsibility (CSR); environmental, social and governance (ESG); and diversity and inclusion in the climate conversation.
Sangeeta began her career as an Executive Parliamentary Officer in the early 90s, writing speeches, letters, reports, and briefing papers for UK government ministers. This led her to the world of media, becoming a Media Officer for Panos Institute in 1995. In 1998, she helped to launch the first ever Victim Support helpline, as part of which, she forged a media partnership with BBC’s Crime Watch. Next, she worked in PR for TES for the paper’s first national fundraising campaign for children in Afghanistan, as well as for National Federation of Women’s Institutes, Mayor Ken Livingstone, Gaia Foundation, and Hobsbawn Media Consultancy.
More of Sangeeta’s roles have included Director of Global Communications and Marketing for The Economist Group Media, Director of Communications and Marketing for Breast Cancer Now, and Contributing Editor for Justmeans/3BL Media and India CSR Network. She has also been a visiting lecturer at Coventry University and sits on the advisory board for the think tank, Bridge India. Her exceptional contributions haven't gone unnoticed, with her receiving prestigious recognition including the award for In House PR Excellence, Best Online Campaign, and Best In House Communication Team with the Charity Sector from the Chartered Institute of Public Relations, in addition to Exceptional Women of Excellence by Women Economic Forum, India, Corporate Social Responsibility Journalism by India CSR Network, a Women in Marketing Storyteller Commendation, and she is on the Top 100 PR Influencers Index.
