Sacha Krstulovic

Sacha Krstulovic is best known for helping organisations understand, strategise, and execute innovation in AI and machine learning. Sacha’s illustrious career lies on a foundation of a Masters in Engineering from ESTACA and a PhD in Technical Sciences from EPFL. Having served as a Research Assistant at IDIAP Research Institute, Research Engineer and IRISA and a Research Engineer at Toshiba Research, Sacha has worked on prominent projects such as developing one of the first HMM-based speech synthesisers for the German language. He also served as a Senior Research Engineer at Nuance Communications.

Sacha held numerous innovation leadership positions at Audio Analytic, the global leader in recognition, understanding and enhancement of sounds beyond speech and music, which was acquired by Meta in 2022. Starting out as a Lead Research Engineer, he later assumed responsibility as the Vice President of Technology and Director of Innovation at Audio Analytic. Other prominent roles Sacha has held include Head of Artificial Intelligence Research at Music Tribe and Director of AI Engineering at Canopy – a startup that is focused on solving vehicular theft.

In his TEDx talk The Sounds Around Us, Sacha speaks on his experience of developing a new type of computer software that was instrumental in automatically recognising environmental sounds.
