An expert in the world of nutrition, wellbeing and behavioural change, entrepreneur and health specialist, Ruth Tongue, is supporting her clients in finding their optimal lives. Through her work as the Director of employee wellbeing specialists Elevate, Pilates instructor and nutrition consultant, Ruth offers a comprehensive approach to mental and physical health, using a holistic approach. Delivering a presentation bespoke to each audience, as a speaker, Ruth offers transformative advice for growth and sustained wellbeing in both personal and professional environments.
Founding Elevate in 2017, Ruth’s ambition as the director has been to lead the corporate wellbeing sector with regard to employee health, through consultancy. Backed by over 15 years as a freelance nutritionist, where she worked on a range of projects from a health specialist for Tesco to a featured media expert on the BBC and ITV, Ruth has spearheaded Elevate to success. Regarded for her unique approach, Ruth believes in combining science-led, evidence-based advice with personalised strategies to gain the greatest benefits for a business, focusing on three areas: move, nourish, and thrive.
Having gained her degree at the University of Birmingham in Sports and Exercise Sciences, Ruth continued to achieve a master’s in nutrition, before entering the corporate world as a nutritionist. Getting caught up in the rat-race lifestyle, eventually took its toll on Ruth, who moved to the South of France to pursue her freelance work as a health and wellbeing specialist, which allowed her to reflect and focus on what matters. Inspired to support others in leading more balanced lives, Ruth returned to the UK and worked on progressive projects like the Tesco Farm to Fork campaign, consulting for start-up health apps and food brands and working with sportsmen and women.
Alongside her current commitment as a business leader, Ruth is a regular contributor to publications such as Glamour, Grazia, Women’s Fitness, Metro and The Evening Standard as an expert on the topics of health and wellbeing. Turning her extensive career into valuable insight for others, Ruth’s keynote talks are highly acclaimed, due to the longevity and positivity of their influence. Able to offer actionable strategies to corporate clients and individuals, Ruth’s presentations not only discuss the importance of fitness, health and mental support in the workplace, but how to achieve it with a sustained approach.

"I would definitely rate Ruth's nutrition workshop 10 out of 10. There were excellent tips to take away which can make a real difference to our health, mind, wellbeing, concentration and efficiency. It was also the perfect depth for the majority of people who have a basic knowledge of nutrition. I believe the workshop is very beneficial for employees as it motivates us and will make us more focused, healthy and efficient in our work. It also perfectly matches Mount Anvil’s key value of doing the right thing." - Ivan, Mount Anvil
"Ruth's session on nutrition for dealing with stress was an excellent way to start the new term. Aside from receiving practical and sensible advice, taking time out to consider our eating habits and making some resolutions to look after ourselves physically, we benefitted as a team, bonding over a nutritious breakfast together." - Christine, Blackheath High School for Girls
