Competing in five major international tournaments for his country was a career highlight for Evra. Called up to the France squad in 2004 to make his senior debut, Evra persevered over the years to become a valuable asset to the national side. In 2010, his determination paid off and he was announced as the captain of France ahead of the 2010 World Cup.
