Micheal Timilehin Omoniyi is an award-winning social entrepreneur, speaker, academic, commentator, leader, artist, activist, polymath and athlete. A truly diverse individual, he has gained a wealth of knowledge from working in many different sectors throughout his career. As the founder of numerous and charities and programmes aimed at helping and supporting people, the integrity Micheal possesses shines through when addressing his audience. Gaining his bachelor’s degree in Politics, Philosophy and Economics from the University of Manchester, Micheal then went on to gain his master’s in Political Science, Democracy and Elections and is currently in the process of earning his PhD in Philosophy. With much knowledge in politics, Micheal’s first role was as a Facilities Assistant in the House of Commons. He then used his expertise as a former English National table tennis player, former Handball player for the English National Team, sprinter, and sports coach, and worked alongside the Athletics Delivery Team for the London 2012 Olympics. Passionate about tackling the issues facing young people, became Micheal the Deputy Chair of Greenwich Young People’s Council from 2011-2013, working alongside the government to ensure they confronted concerns such as education, activities and wellbeing. During his time with The British Youth Council, Micheal acted as the United Kingdom's Ambassador to the European Union, consulting thousands of young people all over the UK, and completed reports shared at three International Conferences.
As well as acting as a consultant for many international and national organisations, including as a board member for The Young Foundation, Royal Institute of International Affairs, Salford University and many more, Micheal is also the founder of four organisations and charities. As the CEO of The Common Sense Network, he is dedicated to sharing news which does not offer extreme views, and is the Founder and Director of Our God Given Mission. He founded the Apex Group as an opportunity for other CEO’s and founders to share their best practices, and founded The BAM Project which helps young men change their views on masculinity. Now, Micheal has been recognised as one of 100 Most Influential Leaders in Tech by the Financial Times in recognition of his pioneering work.
