Dr Megan Rossi is an expert dietician, nutritionist and bestselling author renowned for her microbiome specialism. After her PhD in Gut Health received the Dean’s Award at the University of Queensland, Megan has pursued a successful career in healthcare, becoming the Founder of The Gut Health Doctor and The Gut Health Clinic. Back in 2006, Megan began her journey into the healthcare industry, studying Dietetics at Queensland University of Technology. Her further education encompassed a PhD in Gut Health, alongside working as a Dietician at Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane and a Nutritionist for the Australia Olympic Synchronised Swimming Team. Making it her mission to understand the connection between the gut and health, Megan accepted the position of Research Fellow at King’s College London in 2015, and has since researched all aspects of prebiotics, probiotics, gut health, plant-based diversity, dietary fibres, food additives and the low-FODMAP diet. In 2017, Megan founded The Gut Health Doctor, an online presence dedicated to linking gut health with other medical conditions – such as kidney disease, heart disease, skin conditions and mental health.
Since building her online persona as The Gut Health Doctor, Megan has also become the Founder of The Gut Health Clinic and the Co-Founder of Bio&Me – an award-winning brand with a range of food products that prioritise gut health. Bio&Me has seen Megan claim the 2021 Future Brand of the Year award, and the company became a certified B Corp in 2022. Having received over £2.5 million to conduct her pioneering research, Megan published over 50 scientific papers, sharing her expertise on gut health in global peer-reviewed journals. She has also published two books of her own, titled Eat Yourself Healthy and Eat More, Live Well, both of which were named Sunday Times Bestsellers. Megan’s renown in gut health science has seen her claim countless awards, including the 2017 British Medical Journal Open Gastroenterology Prize and the British Nutrition Foundation Drummond Pump Priming Award.
