Matt Zina

Matt Zina is an award-winning acting coach, talent agent and keynote speaker, best known as the Founder and CEO of Matt Zina Acting and the creator of the Trinity Acting Method. With more than two decades of industry experience, he is recognised for helping performers and professionals deliver confident, watchable performances under pressure. His most significant achievement is the creation of a proven performance system now used internationally, blending screen acting technique with mindset, communication and strategic thinking to support consistent high performance.

Matt’s early career was shaped by a lifelong commitment to craft, discipline and presence. He trained through stage school before completing formal performing arts education at Intake School of Performing Arts, where professional standards and repeatable technique were central to the training. Alongside this, he completed Guildhall Trinity performance examinations, progressing to Grade 8 and later coaching others towards their own exam success. Matt also built a solid career as a professional actor, appearing in well known British television dramas including Heartbeat, A Touch of Frost and Emmerdale. These on set experiences gave him first hand insight into casting pressure, performance expectations and the realities of working in fast paced production environments. During this period, he began mentoring fellow performers, recognising that confidence, preparation and clarity of intention were often the deciding factors between progress and stagnation.

His career achievements reflect a rare combination of creative credibility and leadership. In 2010, he founded Matt Zina Acting Ltd, later becoming a multi award winning organisation with a global student base. As Founder and Managing Director of Matt Zina Acting, Matt has coached actors who have gone on to secure roles across BBC and ITV productions, feature films and national commercials, including projects recognised at BAFTA level and international film festivals. He later established the Matt Zina Agency, a Spotlight approved talent agency, creating an end to end pathway from training to professional representation. His work has been recognised with multiple industry honours, including the Prestige Award and Best Creative Arts Business titles. Beyond the creative sector, Matt is also Managing Director of YSA Performing in Business, applying performance psychology to leadership and communication.

As a keynote speaker, Matt brings the discipline of screen performance into business, leadership and personal development environments. He speaks on confidence under pressure, authentic communication, influence, resilience and sustainable high performance. His sessions translate techniques actors use in auditions into practical tools for presentations, negotiations and leadership conversations. One example is his work with senior leadership teams, using audition preparation methods to help executives remain calm, credible and focused during high stakes investor meetings.
