Matt Green is better known as The Rapping Science Teacher, making music videos that explore and explain GCSE science topics in an entertaining and succinct manner. Director of JGM Science Tutors, Matt provides expert science tutoring for GCSE and A-levels science students. Matt’s hope is to help students excel at the subject.
Matt possesses a BSc in Biochemistry from the University of Kent and an MSc in Neuroscience from Imperial College London. Initially working as a teacher in various schools, Matt started making videos as The Rapping Science Teacher in 2020. Posting one-minute music videos that are set against soundtracks of Drake, Central Cee, Stormzy, Skepta and Dave, he explains vital GSCE science concepts that students may otherwise find quite complex to understand. His videos have accumulated over 100 million views – a testament to their popularity amongst students.
Matt’s work has piqued the interest of some of the leading news media including The Metro, BBC and ITV. He has also partnered with organisations such as Bett, Zero Gravity, Anxend, SaveMyExams, Unite Students, JD, OCR and Marvel. He also makes raps around subjects such as anxiety, mental health and wellbeing for these brands. In 2023, Matt appeared on ITV's The Voice UK and managed to mesmerise and get picked by coach Will.i.am.
Matt has managed to amalgamate his love for music and science to create a platform where students can learn and be entertained simultaneously. Teaching students everything to do with science, from respiration to electrolysis, Matt Green has created a niche for himself. He is now available to speak to a wide range of audiences, sharing more about his mission to help students all around the world. Book him today!
