Martha Deiros Collado

Martha Deiros Collado is a leading Clinical Psychologist and HCPC registered practitioner with over 20 years of experience. A distinguished academic who has published several peer-reviewed articles, she is also an expert in parenting, child development and paediatric health. On a mission to make the science of psychology accessible to everyone, Martha has a large following on Instagram, where she tackles major topics in a calm and empathetic manner that appeals to her growing followers. Such topics include death, gender, sex, and consent, among others.

Martha earned her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at UCL, her MSc in Health Psychology at the University of Leeds and her BSc in Psychology at the University of York. Moreover, She completed her training in Family Therapy at Tavistock and went on to become a Chartered Member of the British Psychology Society. As a highly accomplished Psychologist, Martha helps families tackle stress using comprehensive systems, which value the individual, their families, and their network. She also adopts a modern approach to parent-child relationships, focusing on fostering a positive relationship between parent and child rather than purely concentrating on changing the child’s behaviour.

Possessing altruistic motives, Martha actively seeks to disseminate her knowledge into the mainstream media to address societal issues such as unconscious bias to help foster a compassionate society. Furthermore, she is extremely well-regarded by her peers and is equipped at dealing with patients struggling with life-changing and life-shortening illnesses. Moreover, Martha has worked as a Lead Psychologist for the East of England Diabetes Network and developed the annual review psychology protocol for Cystic Fibrosis. She was also responsible for setting up the Teen Young Adult Cancer Service at Guy’s Hospital.

In addition to owning a highly successful private practice in London, Martha dedicates some of her time to mentoring at the Valued Voice Mentoring Scheme to help guide aspiring clinical psychologists from minority backgrounds into the profession. Her strong reputation as a leading psychologist has seen her appear on BBC5Live Parenting Club and BBC London News as an expert guest, in addition to presenting workshops at prestigious conferences both nationally and internationally.
