Mark Rabkin

Mark Rabkin is Vice president of Oculus and AR/VR Experiences at Facebook. Beginning his career at Facebook in 2007, Mark has been involved in several divisions. As such he is an excellent speaker on a variety of different topics, including Oculus, AR/VR tech, advertisement, business platforms and software engineering.

Mark holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the University of California and an M.S. in Computer Science from Stanford University with an emphasis on distributed systems and high performance. He began his career working for Intel, where he was involved in chip design, building software for the different elements of the chip.

Moving on to Google, Mark worked as a senior software engineer where he co-created the Google Movies search product and led a team to build infrastructure, focusing on real-time traffic distribution between global data centres and core building blocks for distributed systems. After four years Mark left to work for Facebook in 2007.

At Facebook Mark began by working on solving problems originating from complex advertising systems, such as reliability, data storage, consistency, market modelling and production. He was then Responsible for the products and infrastructure that connect people with businesses. Feeling strongly about creating an environment where ads are more relevant and interesting, whilst impactful for businesses, Mark had to consider the needs of 1.79B users.

Mark is a highly accomplished leader in the tech world, who has been at the forefront of technological innovation during his time working for Intel, Google, and Facebook. With a diverse technological background and a wealth of experience, Mark can offer a range of speeches on highly relevant technologies including AR/VR and Oculus, in addition to complex advertising systems and business platforms.
