Manoj Malde is a popular TV Gardener and Principal Designer at Manoj Malde Garden Design. Best known for presenting on the BBC’s ‘Your Garden Made Perfect’ and Channel 4’s ‘Garden Of The Year’, he also serves as a Royal Horticultural Society Judge and Ambassador for inclusivity. After graduating with a Master's degree in fashion design from the Royal College of Art, Manoj started his career in fashion, working as a Design Manager and later as Creative Director at MODATIMKAR Group, where he designed womenswear ranges for Topshop, River Island, Debenhams, and Miss Selfridge. During his 18 years in the fashion industry, he also served as a Design Manager for Next and Poeticgem. Shifting his focus to the world of gardening in 2011, he founded his gardening company, Manoj Malde Garden Design, where he designs outdoor spaces for private clients and property developers with a personalised and comprehensive service. Manoj made his debut at the Chelsea Flower Show in 2017 with his garden ‘Beneath a Mexican Sky’, which won a silver-gilt medal. He also designed a garden for the Chelsea Flower Show in 2025 with the theme of tackling and challenging the stigma of HIV, which was supported by Project Giving Back and won his second silver-gilt medal.
A well-known figure in the gardening world, Manoj was featured in Horticulture Week’s top 50 list of leading garden designers in 2020. His gardens have featured in Homes & Gardens, Country Life, The Guardian and The Daily Telegraph. He has also made a name for himself on TV, appearing on shows including Gardener’s World, The Great Gardening Challenge, Love Your Weekend, and Steph’s Packed Lunch, alongside radio contributions as a gardening expert on BBC Radio London and BBC Radio 4’s Gardeners’ Question Time. In 2024, he published his book, ‘Your Outdoor Room: How to design a garden you can live in’, a guide for homeowners to transform their gardens.
Aiming to inspire a passion for gardening across wider audiences, Manoj has delivered numerous talks and appeared on various panels for a multitude of gardening and nature events, including the RHS and Mobilane Global. He is also an advocate for greater diversity and inclusion in the landscaping industry, currently serving as an Equity Ambassador for The British Association of Landscape Industries.
