Luc Julia

Luc Julia is credited as one of the masterminds behind Apple's Siri, a virtual assistant that revolutionised mobile innovation. He directed its operation, ensuring that users remained safe while they used Siri to answer basic day to day questions. Educated at the Ecole Nationale Supèrieure des Télécommunications, Luc graduated with a PhD in 1995. While studying, he worked as a Fellow Researcher, designing multimodel interfaces and studying gesture recognition. In 1996, he moved to Speech Technology And Research Laboratory, as a Research Engineer specialising in web interface designs. Luc quickly rose through the ranks, until in 1998 he co-founded the Computer Human Interaction Center, where he built the first smart car and smart fridge.

Throughout the 2010s, Luc prospered in a handful of high profile roles, including CTO of Orb Networks, Inc and Hewlett-Packard Company, L.P. In 2010, he was appointed Cheif Technologist of Apple, Inc. Luc is responsible for Siri's core patents, while managing up to 85 people. In this role, he played a direct role in the virtual assistant's server development, operation, speech recognition and more, including setting up Analytics and Research groups.

Luc now works for Samsung Electronics, with whom he released ARTIK Cloud, an open data exchange platform for the IoT, otherwise known as the Internet of Things. The technological ecosystem allowed users to connect worldwide via machine learning, data analytics and rule engines. With over two decades of industry experience, Luc comprised a novel titled L'Intelligence Artificielle N'existe Pas, or Artificial Intelligence Does Not Exist. As a speaker, he expands upon this field of subject, discussing with audiences the future of AI.
