L’myah Sherae is the Founder of Enact Equality, a leading non-profit organisation that engages with celebrities and prominent organisations to advance race and equality across the UK. She is also the Founder of the All-Party Parliamentary Group for Race Equality in Education, which involves campaigning with MPs and Peers across different political parties for greater race equality in education. With an abundance of experience in politics and both Houses of Parliament, L’myah is a leading expert on policies involving race, diversity, and equality.
Showcasing academic excellence during her time at the University of Cambridge, L’myah earned a master's degree in International Relations and Politics. She went on to work at the House of Lords, on appointment by Lord Bird MBE, the co-founder of the Big Issue. The role involved managing a team of political researchers to draft policy development for the UK Wellbeing of Future Generation Bill. This bill is currently navigating both houses of parliament and awaiting approval.
Moreover, she has experience at the House of Commons working in the Private Office of the former Labour Leader Jeremy Corbyn. L’myah was also elected to the Houses of Parliament Staff Equality Committee for Race, Ethnicity and Cultural Heritage, as well as holding a variety of other roles over the years. Her inspirational activism has had a huge impact on advancing race and equality, most recently resulting in new national guidance against Afro-hair discrimination in schools.
