Lisa Feldman Barrett is a world-renowned neuroscientist and psychologist who studies emotions in the brain. One of the Top 0.1% Most Cited Scientists in the world, Lisa is a Distinguished Professor of Psychology at Northeastern University. Throughout her career, she has authored over 275 peer-reviewed that have been published in Science, Nature Neuroscience, and other leading psychology journals. Lisa possesses a BS in Psychology from the University of Toronto and a PhD from the University of Waterloo. Her book “How Emotions Are Made: The Secret Life of the Brain” is said to dismantle and reconstruct the readers’ understanding of their emotions. Her most recent book, “Seven and a Half Lesson About the Brain”, explains the constant battle between thoughts and emotions that we experience as humans. Often contributing to leading publications such as The New York Times, The Guardian, Scientific America, MIT Technology Review, and Time Magazine, Lisa’s knowledge of human psychology and her extraordinary research has positioned her to garner recognition from all over the world. She is a Recipient of the Guggenheim Fellowship and the APA Distinguished Scientific Contribution in Psychology Award.
