Lisa Fallon is a high-performance strategy specialist who is currently working with FIFA Global Football Development Division - High Performance Department Football Content to identify physical, tactical and technical trends in the modern game of football. She is also a UEFA Pro License Manager and Coach and is the first-ever female to be head Coach of a full-time professional men’s football team based in Ireland or the UK. She is regularly booked for speaking engagements around the UK where she shares her insights into the ever-developing field of football, and uses her years of experience managing football teams to speak on strategy, mindset, high performance and teamwork.
Whilst at Canterbury Christ Church University where she studied joint honours in Sport Science and English, Lisa would captain the Women’s Football University Team and played British University Squad Football, graduating in 1997. 21 years later Lisa would then obtain an LMA Diploma in Football Management from the University of Liverpool and gained her Professional Certificate in Governance in 2022. Originally, Lisa’s career did not involve football – she became the Manager of O’Neill’s Irish Pub and then an Advertising Sales Manager for AutoTrader. Lisa then became the Senior Advertising Sales Account Manager for Independent News & Media before being head-hunted by The Irish Times to become their Senior Account Manager. After two more roles outside of football as an Afternoon Sports Anchor for Dublin’s 98FM and then a Sports Reporter for Newstalk, Lisa pursued a career within the sport she loved: football.
Having played football most of her life, Lisa was well aware of the skills necessary to become an excellent coach, her first position in football was as the Head Coach and Assistant Manager for Shamrock Rovers FC. With her talent as a coach clear for all to see, Lisa has since become Ireland’s first-ever female coach in the professional men’s game. Lisa has analysed and coached 300 plus games in the men’s League of Ireland premier and first division and has worked in numerous FIFA Tournaments including the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
With her vast experience as both a coach and a sports journalist, Lisa draws on her career in her keynote speeches where she can give valuable insights on what it takes to reach the pinnacle of your sport. Lisa is also a Non-Executive Board Director and the Chair of the High-Performance Committee for Paralympics Ireland.
