Television presenter and design expert Linda Barker is one of the UK’s most well-known interior designers, with her own brand of furniture, fabric, wallpaper and household accessories Barker has become a popular designer in her own right. First rising into the public eye in the 1990’s after appearing as one of the lead designers and TV presenters on BBC1’s hit series Changing Rooms Linda Barker has continued to work in both interior design and television since leaving the show.
Linda Barker began her work in television behind the scenes as a set designer alongside fellow future Changing Rooms star Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen; spending six years on the show Barker, along with her fellow designers and TV presenters became an international sensation. Branching out to other series Linda Barker further secured her popularity when she began co-hosting another BBC series, House Invaders.
In more recent years Linda Barker has worked prolifically as a television and radio presenter, hosting a variety of shows but continuing to indulge in her personal passion for interior design with shows such as Building the Dream, With A Little Help From My Friends and Under Construction all for the BBC’s rival broadcaster ITV. Outside her work as a designer and a television and radio presenter Linda Barker has also taken part in a number of reality TV shows, most notably I’m A Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here! and Come Dine With Me. Linda has also begun working as a writer, publishing a number of design books, including writing a column for the weekend The Daily Express newspaper.
Still one of the most well respected design experts in the country Linda Barker is available as a leading TV presenter, guest or talking head for design, construction and refurbishment shows. She is a popular and much sought after television personality and her insights into modern interior design have also helped to make her a popular speaker on the corporate and design seminar circuit.
