Kate Pleace is a senior women’s health nurse with more than 17 years of experience in fertility, premature ovarian insufficiency (POI) and menopause care. Having worked across a range of clinical and academic roles, she has become a respected voice in the field of female health. Kate spent seven years at a leading IVF clinic, where she managed a multi-site egg donation programme and supported patients through their journeys to parenthood. Kate graduated from Birmingham City University with a Bachelor’s degree in Registered Nursing in 2004. She began her career as a gynaecology staff nurse at the Heart of England NHS Foundation Trust in 2007, before moving to the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in 2009. In 2010, she transitioned into reproductive medicine, taking on the role of Fertility Nurse at the Nurture Fertility and IVF Centre, where she began developing her expertise in supporting patients through complex fertility journeys. Building on this experience, Kate became Lead Fertility Nurse at Bourn Hall Fertility Clinic in 2012, where she played a key role in guiding patients through the IVF process. Alongside her clinical work, she continued to advance her academic knowledge, completing a Master of Science in Reproductive Medicine at the University of South Wales in 2017. In 2020, she worked as a Fertility and Menopause Specialist Nurse, further strengthening her expertise in reproductive care. In 2021, she became a PhD candidate with the Centre for Reproduction Research at De Montfort University, where her research focused on premature menopause, reflecting her dedication to women’s reproductive health research.
Kate is also a respected academic and educator, and has served as a Nurse Lecturer at several leading institutions, including Anglia Ruskin University, Dublin City University and the University of Essex. Alongside her teaching, she regularly contributes to professional discussions within the women’s health community, attending medical conferences and events to share her specialist insights. Kate has spoken as part of the Seminar Programme at the Fertility Show and appeared as a guest on The Fertility Podcast with independent fertility nurse consultant Kate Davies.
