Júlio César

Júlio César is a world-class Brazillian goalkeeper. With a 21-year long career on the pitch, he is incredibly experienced and often regarded by pundits as ‘one of the best goalkeepers in the world.’ He has played in the full range of competitions including the Fifa World Cup, Champions League, and Premier League. Cesar started his career at Flamengo in 1997 and after seven years having made 285 appearances for the club he briefly joined Chievo. Whilst at Inter Milan Julio Cesar won five Italian Football Championships, the 2009-2010 UEFA Champions League and the 2010 Fifa Club World Cup. Cesar went on to sign for Premier Leauge club, Queens Park Rangers, and later Benfica before returning to Flamego for his farewell ahead of his 2018 retirement.

Hailed as one of Brazils greatest ever goalkeepers Cesar is known for his reflexes and agility. His career was incredible from the outset and his 300 appearances for Inter Milan across seven years proved he was an asset to the team. In the same time period, he contributed to the impressive 14 trophies won by the club. An honor for any athlete is to be chosen to represent their country and Cesar was awarded the privilege 87 times between 2004 and 2014, a testament to his hard work.

Over the course of his career, Julio Cesar was appreciated internationally for his talent and commitment. Series A declared him the Goal Keeper of the Year for two consecutive seasons between 2008-2010. At the time he was also awarded UEFA Goal Keeper of the Year 2009-2010 and the IFFHS World’s Best Goalkeeper Silver Ball 2010 , having won the bronze award in the previous year.
