Julian Wheatland

Julian Wheatland is the CEO of Progility Technologies and a Conservative Party (UK) politician. He is a seasoned fintech professional and serial entrepreneur with a 25-year history in leading, funding, and advising fast-growing technology and finance enterprises. As a keynote speaker, Julian inspires audiences through his industry insights and covering topics such as tech company growth, data privacy, and crisis management. 

Back in the 80s and 90s, Julian graduated with his BSc Electrical & Electronic Engineering from University of Leeds and MBA Strategic Management/Finance from The Wharton School. His first role came in 1993 as an Operations Manager at BICC Cables, followed a few years later by becoming a Managing Consultant at PA Consulting, and Director of Corporate Development at Edengene Ltd. In 2005, he was CEO at Consensus Community, followed by Cosmos Technology and Hatton International from 2009. In the same year, he became Chairman at SCL Group, and then a Consultant at Mark Group in 2012. From there, he entered the role of Group COO & CFO at SCL Group / SCL Analytics, before moving to SCL Group / SCL USA Inc in the same role.

In 2018, Julian took on the role CEO of Cambridge Analytica during the time of the PR and media crisis that came with the Facebook data scandal, where the company had been collecting data from users without their permission for the purpose of political advertising. When Julian stepped in, his role was to close the company. Since then, he has held the positions of Technology, Data & Business Consultant at Hatton International, CEO of Cornerstone FS, and CEO of Brava Systems. He is now based in Mumbai, India and working as CEO of Progility Technologies. Alongside this, Julian is available to hire as a speaker, delivering informative talks for audiences with insights on technology, the impact of AI in the corporate world, entrepreneurship, leadership, and data ethics.
