Jimmy Bullard is now taking his knowledge that he has amassed from his 14-year long professional football career to co-host Sky TV show Soccer AM. Having played for the likes of West Ham United and Fulham, Bullard is fully equipped with teamwork, leadership and management skills that he can offer to audiences as an after-dinner speaker. Starting out as a footballer as young as primary school age, Bullard discovered his natural ability for the game and joined non-league football club Corinthian. He moved to Dartford in 1997 who he made 26 appearances for before moving to Gravesend & Northfleet, West Ham United and then Peterborough United.
He attracted the attention of Wigan Athletic as he scored 11 goals for The Posh and transferred in 2003. Throughout his time with Wigan Athletic, Bullard established himself as a highly-skilled professional footballer. He contributed to their promotion into the FA Premier League in 2005 and fought in the 2006 Football League Cup Final against the world-renowned Manchester United. Interest from other clubs began to rise and Jimmy was signed by Fulham in 2006 with the former boss, Chris Coleman saying he was “the best £2 million we’ve ever spent”.
He moved to Hull City in 2009 scoring seven goals in only 23 appearances before moving over to Ipswich Town on loan. Bullard made a statement in only a short period of three months with Ipswich. He managed to score five times in only 16 appearances, earning the Supporters’ Player of the Year Award and therefore was signed permanently on a two-year contract. Throughout his footballing career, Jimmy suffered a variety of injuries that lead to various suspensions and weeks out of the game. In 2012, he announced that his body could no longer keep up with his passion and retired after a brief spell with Milton Keynes Dons.
Since retirement, he has acted as manager of the Isthmian League Premier Division side Leatherhead in 2016.
