Jez Allinson is an inspirational and one-of-a-kind public figure, also known as ‘The Running Stormtrooper’. After spending his entire career in the Royal Air force, Jez began The Running Stormtrooper Project in 2016. Throughout the years, Jez’s achievements have been noted and brought to light by the BBC, ITV, and Lad Bible. With all these years of fundraising Jez has so many interesting stories and experiences to share, making him an engaging and fascinating keynote speaker.
Prior to starting his fundraising project, Jez joined the Royal Air Force as non-commissioned Helicopter Aircrew and would later become a Qualified Helicopter Crewman Instructor. Fast forward to later in his career and Jez commissioned as an Officer and is a veteran of numerous tours in Afghanistan. He is now the Officer Commanding the Centre of Air Safety Training. Having had a varied and busy career, Jez’s one constant has been his passion for raising money.
Over the last 7 years, Jez has raised over £80,000 for charities Make-a-Wish and Spread a Smile, running numerous marathons and ultra runs in the UK, USA, and Afghanistan all in his stormtrooper armour. In 2020, Jez even gained a Guinness World Record for running 1,000 miles all in his armour. He has also made an appearance at the Star Wars Celebration by running on a treadmill the entire time to raise money. Jez’s achievements have been shared on the Star Wars website in a written interview and he was nominated for a Pride of Britain Award as a regional finalist. Jez has now run his last race but continues to raise money whilst pacing his marathons, as well as being a blind runners guide.
