Hilarious comedian, and talented writer, Jen Brister is a rising star on the comedy and speaker circuit. From performing at international comedy festivals to talking on the TEDx stage, and writing for the Huffington Post, there is nothing this influential comic can’t do. At events, Jen is completely versatile, able to be the witty host of your evening, star performer of your show or share an after dinner speech about her brilliant career to date.
With five solo shows, numerous television appearances and a sell out run at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, it’s fair to say Jen has made her mark on the comedy scene. Regularly seen at top comedy clubs around the UK, Jen has also extensively toured her own shows building a reputation as a quick witted and current performer. Combining her desire to highlight important topics through her comedy, Jen has contributed to podcast series such as The Guilty Femenist and centers her productions on themes like family relationships, as seen in ‘Me, My Mum & I’. Some of her most high profile appearances were on Live at the Apollo and Live at the Comedy Store, as well as touring with the likes of Frankie Boyle.
Jen was always destined to be a performer and chose to study drama at Middlesex University, which is where she discovered her talent for stand up comedy. As part of her degree she undertook a stand up course, the only one in the country at the time, and her natural humour was evident from the outset. Whilst still studying she performed her first solo gig at a stand up night, and the overhealing response solidified Jen’s future as a stand up artist. Currently, Jen is on tour in the UK with her new for 2020 show ‘Under Privilege’. She is also enjoying the success of her first ever book published in 2019 ‘The Other Mother….’and is gaining a reputation as an engaging speaker. Since completing her first TEDx talk in 2018 on ‘Changing the way we bring up our boys’ which challenged gender norms, Jen has become equally as respected as a keynote speaker as she is a talented comedian.
