Jeff Stelling

Jeff Stelling is one of the most widely recognised television presenters in the UK who presented Gillette Soccer Saturday on Sky Sports for nearly 30 years. A sports presenter whose passion for football is evident through every appearance he made, Jeff also hosted the Champions League for four years of his career.

Jeff’s career in broadcasting began in the 1970s, as a reporter who covered Middlesbrough FC on Radio Tees. He has also presented shows like LBC Radio Sportswatch programme and BBC Radio 2’s Sport on 2 where he covered the Los Angeles and Seoul Olympic Games. Since 1994, Jeff has been a presenter on Gillette Soccer Saturday (formerly known as Sports Saturday).

Jeff has a series of accolades to his name, most notable of which is being named Sports Broadcaster of the Year by the Sports Journalist Association for four consecutive years. He has also forayed into mainstream television through his appearances on shows such as Ted Lasso, The IT Crowd, Dream Team and Mike Bassett: Manager. He also has an Honorary Degree from the University of Teesside. Most recently, in 2024, Jeff was honoured with the appointment of MBE for Services to Sport, Broadcasting and Charity in the New Year's Honours. 

Author of “I’ve Got Mail”, “Jeffanory” and “Jelleyman’s Thrown a Wobbly”, Jeff’s talents are manifold. He has also contributed to the book “Behind the Curtain of the Beautiful Game”. Jeff has also hosted game shows such as Channel 4’s Countdown and ITV’s Alphabetical. His newest role is as a presenter on TalkSPORT’s breakfast show.
