Jeanette Kwakye

Jeanette Kwakye is a former international athlete turned sports broadcaster who is now a Co-Host on the Martin Lewis Money Show. Famed for reaching the Women’s 100m final in the 2008 Beijing Olympics, she became a national sensation in the UK. Jeanette is now available to speak at a wide range of events on being an athlete and media personality.

Jeanette only veered towards athletics at the age of 14, not quite enjoying the process of training, but was overtly drawn to competing. Witnessing Usain Bolt run at the World Junior Championships in Jamaica which she visited with Team GB instilled in Jeanette a confidence that she could carry on a career in this field successfully. She went onto achieve great heights in the 2008 Olympics with over 90,000 people in the stadium watching her.

Jeanette possesses a degree in Politics from Loughborough University and also a diploma in Journalism which obtained to bolster her legitimacy as a producer and editor. Having always been interested in a career in media, Jeanette was naturally drawn to becoming a sports broadcaster after her retirement from athletics. She serves as a Sports Broadcaster for BBC, Channel 5, and Sky. Currently Jeanette is also the Co-Founder of The Balley Consultancy – a creative consultancy that challenge the entertainment, sport and music industries to place true representation at their core. Most recently, Jeanette co-hosted the BBC's morning coverage of the Paris 2024 Olympics alongside JJ Chalmers, providing updates and expert analysis on key events like gymnastics, athletics and swimming.
