Jane Malyon is a dynamic entrepreneur, communications expert and engaging keynote speaker, best known as the Founder and Managing Director of The English Tea Company. Jane’s career began with a strong foundation in communication skills training. In 2002, she worked as a Communication Skills Trainer, one-to-one coach and speaker at Now Presenting, where she developed her reputation for delivering practical, engaging and transformative sessions. She has worked with major organisations including Intu, RBS, KPI Dent, Essex County Council, English Heritage and numerous legal, accountancy, construction and marketing firms. In 2011, Jane founded The English Tea Company, and by 2013, she had become its Managing Director and self-styled Chief Scone Gnome. That same year, the company achieved remarkable success, winning the Small Business of the Year Award and setting a Guinness World Record for the largest tea party in the world, demonstrating her flair for combining business with memorable experiences.

Alongside her business achievements, Jane has built an impressive portfolio of media appearances, publications and thought leadership. She published ‘Play Nicely! Best Behaviour in Business’ in 2012, followed by her Amazon bestseller ‘Scone or Scone: The Essential Guide To British Afternoon Tea’ in 2019. Her expertise has led to frequent appearances on the BBC and BBC Radio, as well as features in major publications including The Sunday Times, The Guardian and The Daily Telegraph. She has also contributed to Woman and Home Magazine, British Airways Highlife Magazine and Essex Life. Jane has spoken at TEDx with her talk ‘How afternoon tea could save the world’ and has participated in panel discussions at Westminster with ministers, as well as business conferences across the UK. She has also been recognised with a regional Business Woman of the Year award.
