Isabel Allende is an internationally renowned novelist, with over 26 bestselling books in her repertoire. Publishing her first novel “The House of the Spirits” in 1982, Isabel’s books have sold over 77 million copies to this day – an unimaginable number. In addition to being an award-winning writer, Isabel is also a vocal feminist who is now using her platform as a speaker to increase awareness of these issues.
It has always been Isabel’s hope that we can live in a world where women have attained social and economic justice and all her efforts have been directed towards achieving this goal. Founder of the Isabel Allende Foundation since 1995, Isabel has strived to empower women and girls all over the world through her advocacy and philanthropy. In 2014, Isabel was awarded the USA’s highest civilian honour - the Presidential Medal of Freedom by President Barack Obama.
