Dedicated to the acceleration of environmental and social impact, Helga’s illustrious career began with education of a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science, International Law and Latin American Studies and an MA in Political Science and Government at Goethe University Frankfurt. Her first major role saw Helga work as a Foreign Affairs and Development Policy Advisor for the German Parliament – putting her education to the test delivering expertise on Latin America. Establishing a reputation for her expertise in international affairs, Helga later became the Chief of Staff for Senatskanzlei Hamburg and a Senior Advisor of the Parliamentary Programme for OSCE. Throughout such roles, Helga also became well-versed in public policy.

Other prominent roles of Helga’s include being the Executive Director of the Heinrich Boll Foundation and the Head of External Relations & Communications for IDB Invest. Helga also spent an impressive nine years in the banking sector, taking on the role of Head of Strategic Communications for the Inter-American Development Bank. Throughout her nine years at the bank, Helga pioneered communications and forged new external relations, also fulfilling roles such as External Relations & Sustainability Principal Advisor and Innovation Principal Specialist for the Inter-American Development Bank. In addition to her corporate commitments, Helga has also become a member of the BMW Responsible Leaders Network, a network of professionals dedicated to a more sustainable future. In recognition of being such a dedicated leader, Helga has previously been honoured with the Foreign Policy Fellowship at the Brookings Institution, the Marshall Memorial Fellowship of the German Marshall Fund and has been appointed as a Prince of Wales Business & Environment Fellow.

Today, Helga continues her work at Bayer AG, having already successfully orchestrated Bayer’s participation as a founding member of the LEAF Coalition and coordinated Bayer’s supply chain and global affairs challenges during the COVID-19 pandemic.
