Heather Baker is an international keynote speaker, Certified Brain Coach, and leading voice on ethical AI adoption. With an MBA from London Business School and an MA in Psychology, she combines deep academic knowledge with hands-on experience scaling and leading award-winning businesses. Having founded, grown, and sold multi-million-pound companies, she is now focused on ensuring people and organisations can thrive in the age of artificial intelligence. Heather is the Founder of The AI Edit and creator of Humans in the Loop, two platforms designed to help leaders, teams and individuals understand AI, adopt it responsibly, and use it with confidence. Her ability to turn overwhelming complexity into practical insight has made her a sought-after speaker for conferences, boardrooms and leadership summits worldwide.
Heather’s early career was shaped by entrepreneurship and resilience. In 2008 she launched TopLine Comms, an agency she built during the global financial crisis. Despite challenging conditions, she grew TopLine into an award-winning international agency serving hundreds of clients, from global giants like Samsung, Shell and the University of Cambridge to high-growth tech start-ups such as Xero and Sonovate. Over 13 years she employed more than 100 people and helped position her clients for remarkable growth stories. During this time, Heather also discovered her love of mergers and acquisitions, completing the company’s first deal in 2018 and eventually selling TopLine to Definition in 2021. These early experiences gave her a sharp understanding of leadership, innovation, and the realities of building successful businesses from the ground up.
After the sale, Heather joined the Definition leadership team, first as Marketing Director before becoming CEO. In this period, the company grew achieved over 200% growth in less than 3 years. Under her leadership the agency expanded to more than 100 staff across three offices and launched Definition AI, a pioneering technology arm. The business climbed into the PR Week Top 150 Consultancies and worked with clients including Amazon, HSBC, Lego and Transport for London. Heather then chose to focus entirely on the future of AI, investing over 2,000 hours in studying data science, governance, ethics and practical applications. This led her to take on the role of Advisory Board Chair at EXUS and to found One Somebody Limited, helping entrepreneurs achieve successful business exits. In 2025 she launched The AI Edit and Humans in the Loop, further cementing her position as a respected authority on how AI impacts business, society and human potential.
Audiences book Heather because she speaks with clarity and conviction on issues that affect every organisation today. Her keynote topics include ethical AI adoption, AI and data privacy, and AI literacy for businesses and individuals. Heather draws on her background scaling companies to eight figures and her deep technical expertise to give leaders practical tools they can use immediately. She understands both the opportunities and the risks of AI, and she has a rare ability to cut through the hype to what really matters. In a world where technology is advancing faster than regulation and human adaptation, Heather helps people turn uncertainty into confidence. For any organisation that wants to understand, navigate and lead in the AI era, her insight is invaluable.
