Hashi Mohammed is one of Britain’s most prominent up-and-coming barristers, broadcasters and writers who presently works at No5 Chambers as a self-employed Barrister. A highly accomplished author, Hashi released his debut book People Like Us where he delves in quite some detail into the topic of social mobility in Britain, presenting the stark reality that people from disadvantaged backgrounds still struggle to access the advantages handed to others from birth. The book was highly rated by leading publications such as The Times, Observer and New Statesman and became BBC Radio 4s Book of the Week. Recently he released his second book A Home of One’s Own, which explores Britain’s housing crisis and offers some recommendations about what can be done to tackle the issue.
With many great accomplishments, Hashi has been honoured with several awards such as the International Criminal Court Award in 2011, the International Visitor Leadership Programme from the United States Department of State in 2013 and Pegasus Scholar awarded by the Pegasus Trust in 2014. Moreover, he is frequently listed as one of the highest-rated planning barristers in England and Wales in the Planning Magazine’s annual Planning Legal Survey.
