Guneet Monga

Guneet Monga is an Indian film producer, whose talents have seen her awarded an Academy Award and nominated for BAFTAs. A star of the entertainment industry, Guneet has been named by The Hollywood Reporter as one of the Top 12 Achievers in the Global Entertainment Industry. Today, Guneet is sought to appear as a speaker at public events, covering topics such as the power of standing up, women in business and disrupt to construct.

Guneet first began her career in media and entertainment studying mass communications at the Madhubala Institute of Mass Communication and Electronic Media. During her studies, Guneet interned with a production coordinator and had her first taste of being a producer. Upon graduation, she started her career as a producer, with her early works including Partition, Say Salaam India, Rang Rasiya and Dasvidaniya. She later went to work on the film Kavi, which claimed the 2009 Student Academy Award – Narrative.

She is also famed for founding Sikhya Entertainment, her own production company. Other prominent films she has worked on include Gangs of Wasseypur, That Girl in Yellow Boots, Michael, Shaitan, Trishna and Aiyya. Two of her best-known films are called The Lunchbox and Monsoon Shoutout, both of which were chosen as part of the International Critic’s Week as well as being screened at the 2013 Cannes Film Festival. In reward of her work and commitment to the entertainment industry, Guneet has been noticed as one of the Top 50 Indians Changing India Today by India Today and included in the Variety International Women’s Impact Report 2018.
