Gerry Donnelly

Irish born after dinner speaker and member of the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA) Gerry Donnelly is an expert rugby speaker available for events around the globe. With more than twenty years’ experience as a sports speaker and specialist event host Gerry is known for his warm personality and humour and for his memorable appearances at a number of high profile rugby and sporting events. Spending thirty years working in the finance industry before embarking on his career as an after dinner speaker Gerry Donnelly has since become inextricably involved with Irish sport and was called upon to appear as a sports speaker at the highly prestigious GAA’s centenary dinner.

Gerry has spoken in front of crowds of more than 650 people and appeared alongside some of the biggest names in Irish sport, his experience helping to raise funds and promote the public profile of the GAA has made Gerry Donnelly the obvious choice of sports speaker for any GAA event whilst his passion for Irish sport makes him the nation’s ideal sporting event host. In his role as a rugby speaker Gerry has appeared at events for the beloved Wooden Spoon rugby charity and has played a high profile role in the promotion of the charity and the organisation of its annual dinner.

However, refusing to restrict himself solely to rugby Gerry Donnelly has also worked as a speaker and event host at the Northern Ireland Football Writer’s Dinner and The Lord Taverners Christmas Charity lunch. During his career Gerry has rubbed shoulders with some of Ireland’s biggest sporting legends, working as an event host, presenting awards or giving after dinner speaker presentations at events with the likes of Peter Schmeichel, Martin O'Neill, Rory McIlroy, Tony McCoy, Willie John McBride and Tommy Doherty. Gerry is also known outside his work as a rugby speaker and has been called upon to appear as an event host at a variety of corporate events and as the after dinner speaker and entertainment at large scale conferences and functions.
