Dr Eliza Filby

Dr Eliza Filby, writer, speaker and consultant, is a distinguished expert on generational intelligence. Using her specialist knowledge she helps governments, companies and services understand the generational shift through a political, social, and work context. With recent pandemics, and an increasingly dynamic political and global economy that is heavily influencing and reshaping the world, and how we live in it, Eliza’s expertise has never been more important. Eliza began her professional life as an academic, writing and teaching the political upheavals of the 1980s.  This was influenced by her growing up in the 1980s where she witnessed profound changes in the social, political, and work environments. Highly educated, Eliza earned a Bachelor’s in History from Durham University, a Master’s in Modern History from UCL and a PhD in Contemporary British History from the University of Warwick. She has held many prestigious teaching jobs, most notably teaching the history of capitalism to Chinese millennials at the University of Renmin Beijing and the history of social democracy to British millennials at King’s College London.

Founding GradTrain in 2014, Eliza created one of the leading graduate training companies in the UK. She offered innovative training programmes and workshops in entrepreneurship, public speaking, and interview techniques, to help graduates stand out. As a distinguished author, Eliza has published three books including, God and Mrs Thatcher: The Battle for Britain’s Soul, Fuelling Gender Diversity: Unlocking the Next Generation Workplace and Mind the Gap: Managing a Multi-Generational Workforce in the Post-Pandemic Age.

Also, the host of It’s All Relative Podcast, Eliza is known for her thought-provoking interviews, which she holds with two generations of the same family to demonstrate their different life experiences, values, and views. In 2022, Eliza was awarded the Europa Forums 2022 Millennia Leaders Award for her research on generations.
