Exceptionally talented and highly innovative, Ed Greig, is the Chief Disruptor for Deloitte Digital. Ed has a fascinating problem-solving philosophy which entails falling in love with the problem to come up with ground-breaking and cost-effective solutions. He brings thrilling ideas to his speaking sessions, where he eloquently discusses the hottest and most disruptive advances in technologies including, 3D printing, virtual reality, machine learning and gamification.
From an early age, Ed showed great promise, he learned how to code whilst still at school, a skill which allowed him to manage his family’s artisan food website. Unfortunately, despite his excellent digital skills, Ed still had to contribute to the less glamorous aspects of farming such as feeding the animals and butchering. After finishing college, Ed attended the University of Warwick where he studied Politics, Philosophy and Economics. Soon after graduating, he launched a web design business, producing exceptional work and learning valuable business skills, including finding clients, negotiating fees, and creating innovative websites. Ed’s website was named in the Independent’s Top 50 Food Websites, and it was also featured on Radio 4’s Food Programme.
In 2009, Ed successfully obtained a graduate consulting position with Deloitte and spent the next three years working as a Technology, Creative and User Experience Consultant. After demonstrating outstanding ability and great knowledge, Ed was promoted to Senior Consultant at the newly established Deloitte Digital in 2012. Within a short period, he progressed to his current position as Chief Disruptor, where he leads the disruption team. The team is well known for its creative problem-solving approach, which is supplemented by hackathons and mash-up days.
Excelling at disruptive and innovative thinking, Ed is able to present highly complex topics to audiences of all abilities. With over ten years of experience, Ed demonstrates his expertise in the latest technologies and describes his approach to applying those technologies in his day-to-day job to come up with revolutionary solutions.
