Dylan Holloway is an award-winning musician who is also known by his stage name, Dylan and the Moon. As a transgender man, mental health ambassador, and LGBTQIA+ advocate, Dylan’s key focus through his career is to spread love and promote the power of authenticity, diversity, and belonging. Dylan uses his past journey of self-acceptance, paired with his study of neuroscience and psychology to cover topics such as mental health and diversity. His ability to adapt his delivery and language to suit any audience makes him a highly regarded and professional speaker.
Prior to his transition and in his early career, Dylan was a 2012 X-Factor Finalist in a band called MK1. Throughout this time Dylan has since expressed that he struggled with his mental health and authenticity in the spotlight. Since transitioning, he has continued his music career and shared stages with Lewis Capaldi, The 1975, and has collaborated with Jason Derulo. Dylan also makes videos duetting his old self, pre-transition. In posting these videos, he spreads the message that it is ok to accept your old self, as it is all part of the journey that makes you who you are now.
In recent years Dylan appeared on screens again in a BBC programme, Project Icon, which resulted in him becoming the first ever transgender winner of a BBC music show. Dylan has since taken a course in public speaking, where he now uses his voice to advocate for individuality and the value of self-awareness. With knowledge surrounding neuroscience and psychology, Dylan is adept at using his knowledge through educational and corporate environments. For example, he has given a speech at an international school for their Annual Pride Conference. Dylan also co-hosts the podcast, Dylan’s Deep Cuts, where he discusses his life’s journey.
As a keynote speaker, Dylan covers a range of topics from music and song-writing to equity and inclusion. Dylan has been described as relatable, passionate, and inspiring and has previously had clients such as Comic Relief, Spotify, and BBC Radio 1.
