Dr Radhika Dirks first moved to the US in 2000 with $1000 and a dream. Today, she is the Founder and CEO of XLabs and Ribo AI, and hailed by Forbes as one of 30 Women in AI to Watch and one of Deloitte’s Top Women in the AI World. A class of 2003 graduate in Physics (Hons) from Purdue University, Radhika continued her education at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, with this including a Master’s in Nanotechnology, G.A.M.E.S Camp – Bio-Engineering Lab, and a PhD in Quantum Computing at Kwiat Quantum Information Group. Following this, she became a Post Doc Researcher, building quantum computers at the same university. In 2010, she co-founded Rotary Gallop, where corporate control meets cutting-edge technology. In 2011, she joined Shell Technology Ventures, working in technology commercialisation, and in 2012, became Venture Investor, as a founding member of the revived $1 billion Venture Capital Group. In 2014, she co-founded Seldn, a provider of AI that predicted the rise of ISIS two weeks before.
Further positions Radhika has held include Mentor at Katapult Accelerator, Board Member at Hala Systems, Guest Lecturer in AI & Quantum Computing at Singularity University, and Advisor at dashboard.earth. In 2017, she founded XLabs, a world-first tech hub that builds space-age moonshots using AI, followed by Ribo AI in 2020, a next-generation biotech that is innovating ground-breaking solutions to cure cancer. Furthermore, she is a global AI advisor to fortune 500 companies, international organisations, governments, and start-ups. This is in addition to having published her book, The AI Laments in 2024.
