The fastest woman in British history, Dina Asher-Smith holds the British record in the 100m, 200m and 4x100m relay. Dina was quick from a young age and burst onto the scene as she won the Commonwealth Youth Games in 2011 before she won the 200m and 4x100m relay at the European Youth Games in 2013. The same year the age of just 17 she was the youngest ever female World Championship relay medallist as she won bronze in the 4x100m relay at the IAAF World T&F Championships A year later she became IAAF World Junior 100m champion. 2015 proved to be another successful year for the breakout star as she won silver at the European Indoor Championships in the 60m. She then went on to break the British Record in the 100m, 200m and 4x100m relay also becoming the first British woman to run 100m under 11seconds. In 2016 she claimed major medals as she became European 200m Champion and at the Rio Games, she won 4x100m Olympic Bronze.
After continuous success Dina suffered a serious setback, breaking her foot at the start of 2017/. However, she showed amazing mental strength to recover and lead team GB to a 4x100m silver medal at the world championships later that year. 2018 saw Dina claim triple gold as she won the 100m, 200m and 4x100m relay at the European Championships. She ended the season with two more British records and ranked number one in the world in both the 100m and 200m. She went on to become a 200m World Champion as well as 100m and 4x100m relay World silver medallist in 2019, becoming the first British woman to win a world title in either the 100m or 200m and setting two more British records. More recently she claimed a bronze medal at the 2020 Olympics in the 4x100m relay. Away from Athletics, she was named in the 2020 power list as one of the most influential people of African or African Caribbean heritage in the UK. She also graduated from King’s College London with a BA in History. Most recently, Dina achieved Silver at the 2024 Paris Olympics, in Women's 4x 100m relay.
