David Croft

The face of the Sky Sports F1 HD channel, David Croft has established himself as one of the nations favourite motorsports commentators. A man with an abundance of wisdom within sport has also offered his analysis to a variety of other major events in darts, boxing and freerunning. With a voice that has become instantly recognisable amongst many, David can bring his insane amount of sporting knowledge to events of all varieties and provide the most entertaining and insightful after dinner speech that engages audiences of all kinds. A broadcasting career that started out on Radio Fairfield, Croft went on to work as the sports editor at BBC Three Counties Radio before making his way up to become a member of the BBC Radio 5 Live team in 1998 for six seasons.

After covering major sporting events including the 2004 Summer Olympic Games and the 2002 FIFA World Cup, David has established himself as a stand-out figure within the industry. Throughout his career, David has commentated at major press conferences with the top three racing qualifiers and finishers at the end of various F1 races. Also with experience as a darts and boxing speaker, he has provided the commentary at World Masters Darts tournaments and significant boxing matches involving the likes of Joe Calzaghe and Roy Jones Jnr. With an abundance of experience in his field and incredible versatility, David has also been seen to voice the Superbowl XLI, the World Freerun Championships, present Sport on 5 and his own sports show on BBC London 94.9FM.

Outside his work as a commentator, David has made appearances on The Race for Sky One, Red Bull Track Attack for ITV and even took on the character of Lofty Crofty for Disney’s Planes. A popular figure in Formula 1, his voice has also been used in Codemasters series of F1-based videogames since 2010 up until 2019. Most recently, he has begun offering his commentary to Sky Sport’s coverage of the Professional Darts Corporation and has continued to become the presenter of events including the 2014 and 2016 World Branding Awards.
