Dr. David Agus

Physician David Agus is a revered professor who specialises in the subjects of medicine and engineering. A leading figure in the treatment of cancer, David is often seen as a contributor to programmes such as CBS News, sought for his expertise on a variety of topics pivotal to healthcare and medicine. Outside of teaching and business, David is widely sought as a keynote speaker for corporate events. As a speaker, he covers topics such as the end of illness, the future of health, health as a complex system and technology.

Widely known for his work as a Physician, David is a Professor of Medicine and Engineering, teaching at the University of Southern California. Teaching budding future generations in the innovations of modern medicine, David is also the founding CEO of the Lawrence J. Ellison Institute for Transformative Medicine. As a doctor, David specialises in the treatment of aggressive cancer and has had countless numbers of his clinical trials and treatment research backed by the National Cancer Institute.

Attending Princeton University, Dr David graduated in Molecular Biology. He later studied at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine, graduating with a Medical degree and continuing his training as an Oncology fellowship at the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. He was later given the opportunity to work as a research scholar for the National Institute of Health. From that point on, David has worked a varied career in medicine, having formerly worked in the Department of Medical Oncology and as the Head of Laboratory of Tumour Biology. He has also worked as an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the Cornell University Medical Centre and Director of the Spielberg Family Center for Applied Proteomics.

David is also known for being the co-founder of Navigenics and co-founder of Applied Proteomics. His other prominent roles include former Director of the Louis Warschaw Prostate Cancer Center and an Associate Professor of Medicine for the University of California. David is also the Director of the USC Center for Applied Molecular Medicine, Co-Director of the USC National Cancer Institute Physical Sciences in Oncology Centre and he also chairs the Global Agenda Council on Genetics for the World Economic Forum. David has also authored the books The Lucky Years, The End of Illness and A Short Guide to a Long Life, all three of which have been recognised as New York Times Bestsellers.

Throughout the course of his career, Dr David has earned many awards for his talents. He has claimed the American Cancer Society Physician Research Award and the CaP CURE Young Investigator Award. He has also been the recipient of the American Society of Clinical Oncology Fellowship Award, the Clinical Scholar Award, the Rock Stars of Science 2009 award and the HealthNetwork Foundation’s Excellence Award. With such a credible career behind him, David is frequently booked as a speaker for a range of corporate events, functions and conferences. Having previously been invited to deliver the TED talk A New Strategy in the War Against Cancer, David is often booked to speak on his radical perceptions on the relationship of the human body and disease.
