Dr Cor Hutton MBE is a quadruple amputee, charity founder, author, and triple honorary doctorate recipient who has transformed personal tragedy into global inspiration. She made history as the first female quadruple amputee to climb both Ben Nevis and Mount Kilimanjaro and became the first Scot to receive a double hand transplant. Cor’s extraordinary resilience, infectious humour, and ability to connect deeply with audiences have made her a highly sought-after keynote speaker. She is hired by organisations across sectors for her ability to shift perspectives, challenge assumptions, and inspire action around adversity, inclusion, and human potential.
Before her life changed in 2013, Cor was a successful business owner and single mother. That year, she contracted pneumonia, which developed into sepsis. She was given only a 5% chance of survival and underwent the amputation of both her hands and lower legs. Her determination to recover, speak openly about her experience, and help others quickly drew national attention. She founded the charity "Finding Your Feet" to support amputees and their families, filling a much-needed gap in care and community. Her journey from survival to service captured the hearts of the public and media, launching her into the national spotlight.
In the years since, Cor has become a published author with her autobiography, "Finding Your Feet", and has written as a columnist for The Sunday Post. She has led her charity to raise over £1.5 million, supporting hundreds of amputees across the UK. Her achievements have earned her numerous accolades, including an MBE in the King’s Birthday Honours, the Freedom of Renfrewshire, and the Points of Light Award presented by Prime Minister David Cameron. She has also been awarded a Citizenship Medal at the Houses of Parliament and officially commended in the Scottish Parliament. Cor has received honorary doctorates from the University of Glasgow, The Open University, and the University of the West of Scotland. Her influence has been recognised in the Disability Power 100 list in both 2020 and 2021, and she was named Scotswoman of the Year in 2019.
Cor is regularly invited to speak at major events and conferences, where she shares her experience of overcoming adversity with candour, vulnerability, and humour. Her most popular speech was her TEDx Talk: Finding Your Feet. Cor has also spoken at The Shard in London, and at numerous corporate, healthcare, and educational events. Her keynote topics include resilience, mental health, disability and inclusion, sepsis awareness, and personal empowerment. Her media appearances include Good Morning Britain, The One Show, Fox News, Sky News, and many other national broadcast and print outlets. Cor’s message resonates across industries and generations, making her one of the most impactful and inspiring speakers in the UK today and an exemplary choice for your next event.

"Cor Hutton will leave you feeling totally inspired and ready to take on anything. ***Can’t recommend her highly enough***” - Rhona Galbraith, ER Network
"Cor Hutton has been my first choice inspirational speaker for the last 2 years on a seminar I run on gender diversity. It is a session that aims to motivate and educate my delegates in equal measure, and Cor’s talk is one of the most inspirational and motivational stories I’ve heard and the perfect way to close my event. Cor is passionate, humble and heart-warming but delivers her talk with ambition and humour. The reaction she receives to her story is lovely to see, as delegates are left with a smile (sometimes a tear) and a whole lot of admiration. I would absolutely recommend Cor as a speaker at any event. She is a true inspiration of what grit and determination can achieve." - Kirsty Zollinger, AJ Bell
"Cor's message lands within your soul on every possible level. I have the pleasure of watching Cor time and time again hold a room, hold every person within the palm of her hand. It changes where people operate from as human beings. I am delighted and honoured that Cor is part of the Reach Your Peak event, and every time she presents, we have no dry eyes in the room. How Cor uses her life experience is nothing short of inspirational – it's real, it's raw, and it's heart-wrenching, but makes you feel truly amazing and aware that your life has to have purpose and meaning to it." - Stevie Kidd, Reach Your Peak Events
