Christopher Stark is the well known and liked British radio personality who’s best known for being the co-host of BBC Radio 1’s The Scott Mills Show. Chris has excelled in the radio industry with a whole career of experience to show for this, starting from being a sixteen-year-old boy on a hospital radio station to working with the likes of Virgin, Galaxy and BBC 6 09Music. From an early age, Chris knew that being on the radio was his passion and he worked hard to achieve it. He initially gained experience as a sixteen-year-old boy working at Radio Northwick Park before going to the University of Southampton to study politics and international relations.
Chris continued his passion alongside his studies by taking over Surge, the student radio station. Although Chris had made previous appearances on The Scott Mills Show as ‘Scott’s friend’ it wasn’t until 2 April 2012 where he officially joined as a co-host. 24 Years at the Tap End is a feature that Stark is best known for which is where he reads parts of his autobiography. The title comes from his on-air realisation at the age of twenty-four that throughout his whole life he had been sitting at the wrong end of the bath. Aired on the 11 November 2011 till 2013 Stark recounts memorable life events, mistakes and life lessons.
It was extremely popular and entertaining to the viewers which resulted in a one-off special aired in January 2014 and a late-night edition, Tap End: Unplugged where he could share his stories that weren't considered daytime appropriate. In March 2013 Chris caught the attention of the worlds media with his unorthodox natured interview with Mila Kunis. With ten minutes notice Chris was sent to interview Mila Kunis for The Scott Mills Show this resulted in Chris talking about his football club, local pub, Nando’s and drinking games. Within days the video, which was posted onto Youtube by BBC Radio 1, had been viewed by ten million people and gone viral.
His interview with Mila Kunis was so well received it then lead to Chris himself being interviewed by Access Hollywood and Soledad O'Brien on CNN’s Starting Point. Subsequently, the interview had been that much of a hit he then went on to interview Jennifer Aniston and Robert Downey Jr in the same kind of way. Chris can bring a lighthearted and fun approach as your after-dinner speaker, providing energy on and off the radio. Chris is a confident public speaker who is used to entertaining and captivating audiences and he beams with personality and character.
