Chris Sanderson is a globally renowned trend forecaster and brand strategist. As the Co-Founder and CEO of The Future Laboratory, a global consultancy firm helping businesses understand and prepare for the future, Chris is an expert in understanding consumers and the growing needs of numerous business sectors.
Prior to the establishment of The Future Laboratory, Chris held various highly esteemed positions, including the position of UK Communications Director for the iconic surfwear brand Quiksilver. Chris also served as a lecturer in visual communication at the University of the Arts in London, forming the strong foundations for a career in trend forecasting. In 2001, he co-founded The Future Laboratory, through which he has worked with leading worldwide brands such as Louis Vuitton, L’Oreal, H&M and Spotify. Chris’s experience as a contributing style editor for British Esquire and a former columnist for Luxury Briefing, a UK luxury industry magazine, enabled him to establish The Future Laboratory’s bi-annual journal, Viewpoint Magazine. Chris joined the British Council Creative Industries in 2004 and currently serves as a British Fashion Council Advisory member.
Alongside his professional career and entrepreneurship, Chris has also appeared on TV, presenting Channel 4’s ‘Home of the Future’, a five-part trends and technology series, as well as ‘Futurescape’ on the same network. Chris has been featured on GMTV and Lorriane, and has been quoted in the New York Times, The Guardian, Bloomberg, Retail Weekly, and The Financial Times.
