Carl Peach is a man who has perfected the art of getting the most out of an unfortunate situation. Losing one’s eyesight is a concept that’s terrifying for many, and it’s one that Carl experienced firsthand shortly before turning 60. At 59, Carl was diagnosed with a hereditary and incurable defect in his optic nerve, causing a permanent visual blizzard that’s tried to get in the way of him living his life. Carl’s story begins far before his blindness, however. Prior to the deterioration of his eyesight, Carl had faced many struggles – from gambling to poor health and mobility, he found himself having to think of creative solutions that would transform his lifestyle. Equipped with a strong spirit and unrelenting determination, Carl fought to become the best version of himself.
