In 2016, she shifted her focus towards creating better opportunities for women in technology by co-founding WIT North, a community dedicated to supporting and connecting women across the Manchester tech scene. Since its creation, the conference has become a thriving community with over 3,000 members and is the largest non-profit Women in Tech conference in the North. Championing equality, the conference supports women through mentorship, leadership development and collaborative events. Building on this, Beckie co-founded Tech Returners in 2017 and served as the CEO to support professionals returning to mid-to-senior level careers in technology. Partnering with leading organisations such as Auto Trader, the BBC and Lloyds Banking Group, the programme has helped many successfully transition back into the tech industry. Beckie later founded The Confidence Community, where she has supported more than 140 women progress into leadership roles.
