Avril Grant is a dynamic motivational speaker and mother who believes that anyone can discover their passion and make it into a career when given the right tools and support. She is founder of AVision for Empowerment and dedicates her time to delivering holistic empowerment and enabling people to discover their potential. She is now a motivational speaker on self-empowerment and overcoming adversity, embracing the journey of change as well as an advocate for mental health and wellbeing and is committed to tackling inequality.
AVision supports young people with violent convictions to find long term employment. As a young mother, Avril quit her successful career in accounting amid a recession to help others realise their potential, from here AVision was born. Avril is on a mission to help others overcome personal challenges, inspired by her journey of overcoming racial discrimination and adversity. Avril created and delivered a series of inspiring workshops designed to empower people and encourage them to discover and achieve their goals. From here Avril moved on to spread the word to local prisons, employment agencies and schools. Her work within the Criminal Justice Sector includes delivering bespoke accredited empowerment courses to over 32 prisons across the UK. AVision believe that young people have great potential, and their workshops aim to nurture young people in order to create a positive impact on their lives, preparing for them to be unleashed into the world.
Today Avril also works as a life coach and change-work specialist, working with a team of facilitators who deliver life-changing workshops. AVision allows people to develop their confidence and self-belief, discovering their passion and purpose in life. Since September 2020 AVision has mentored 236 service users, of which 60 are now in full-time employment and 5 are self-employed.
Avril’s keynote speeches aim to ignite self-belief, which she thinks is vital for people to find their own passion and pathway in life. She has delivered a TEDx talk on ‘Overcoming Fear and Uncertainty’ and delivers speeches at corporate events and conferences suggesting ways the work place can be positively changes as well as igniting personal development.
