Anna Butrym

Though she is originally from Hungary, Anna Butrym's immense language skills leave audiences wondering which language she learned first. Boasting a love of both literature, language and event hosting, she is the ideal addition to a wide range of events all over the world. Anna is an esteemed translator, who uses her knowledge to create a more immersive event experience.

Anna earned a Master's degree from the Jagiellonian University, where she wrote a thesis on linguistics, law and economics, analysing the disciplines in three languages. As a measure of accreditation, in 2009 Anna passed the ECL exam at the C1 level in Hungary. Following this, Anna completed a postgraduate degree in Programme of Translation of Literary Works, a course in which she changed paths and translated a Hungarian play.

As a testament to her skill, Anna won three competitions in literary translation, from the Hungarian Cultural Institute in Warsaw. Following her postgraduate graduation, she started working as a translator and interpreter. This experience shaped her as a speaker, and opened Anna's eyes to the multiple different inflexions, tones and accents within each language. Confident in front of a diverse audience, Anna's skillset means that she is invaluable at international events. She can bring audiences of all nationalities together.

She can also translate within music, especially classical music. Following 12 years of study into classical music, both theoretical and practical, Anna now combines her passions to make classical music more accessible to the masses. As a Polish-Hungarian-English MC, she appears at industry, corporate and public events, to provide both entertainment and language translation. For fireside chats and panel discussions, she can interpret between expert guests or for the audience.
