English professional darts player, Andy Hamilton is also known as The Hammer and plays in the British Darts Organisation tournaments. With an abundance of experience that dates back to 1981, he has managed to amass an incredible skill set in which he is able to relate back to corporate audiences as an after dinner speaker. Taking up darts at the age of 14, Hamilton was playing at county level by the time he was 18 for Cheshire. However, a lack of confidence took him to decline any kind of career in darts and wasn’t seen to participate in the sport for almost 20 years. It was in 2004 when he made his TV debut at the UK open before he reaching his first semi-final at the PDC Pro Tour.
The runner up in the PDC 2012 World Championship, the 2013 UK Open and the 2007 Grand Slam, Andy left a mark on the Professional Darts Corporation before joining the British Darts Organisation in 2018. During this point in his career, he managed to secure himself a place in the final at The BDO Welsh Open and also boost his BDO ranking to an impressive 12. His regarded position in the rankings allowed him to compete at the 2020 World Championships.
He successfully became a member of the last 16 and battled against Darren Herewini and Wayne Harren before just missing out on the quarter-finals of the tournament. Outside of darts, he has collaborated with other players to record a charity single in aid of the Haven House Children’s Hospice. With an amazing amount of experience and skill, Andy Hamilton can deliver one of the most dynamic speeches that can focus on topics including overcoming adversity and maintaining drive and determination whilst still remaining light-hearted and entertaining. A sportsman who never fails to leave audiences in fits of laughter, Hamilton is ideal for events in search of a charismatic and insightful after dinner speaker.
